Backspace - a performance with a mirror

Tomorrow is the opening ceremony of the exhibition 'Body Culture' in the gallery Bath Royal Society of Literacy and Science. I am participating in this collective exhibition with a work called 'Backspace', a performance about anorexia in which audiences have to interact with a mirror. Touring Self-portrait

The play 'Self-portrait' has been shown in several venues in England and will have its international premier at Amsterdam Fringe 2011. So far, it has been performed at The Basement (Brighton), ICIA - University of Bath, Pinter Centre/Goldsmiths College and Jack Studio (London). The play "Self-portrait" will be presented at the Festival Absolut Fringe, Dublin, 21st September, Absolut Fringe Factory, Live Scratch Programe. It could be a police questionnaire or an health interrogatory or, even, the discourse fragmented of a machine. But it is a play. During years, I collected my personal details - since Identity number to mamographies and medical examinations and wondered what's the role that heritage plays in our life. Where were your born? What's your age? Do you have sex regularly? How many times a week? Is there any disease in your family? Which disease? Please answer the question.

Cross Talk Video Art Film Festival

Os filmes "Birds" e "Purification"foram seleccionados para o Festival Cross Talk Video Art, que decorreu em Budapeste, Hungria, de 1 a 6 de Junho, 2010. O Festival decorreu na Merlin (Galeria de Arte e Bar), localizada mesmo no centro da cidade. Áustria, o País convidado, trouxe uma mostra de trabalhos excelentes, em vídeo arte.

The films "Birds" and "Purification" were selected for the Cross Talk - Video Art Film Festival that took place in Budapest, Hungary, from 1 to 6 of June. The Festival took place at the Merlin, an art gallery that is, simultaneously, a bar. It has good exhibition conditions and the location is great, at the very city centre. Austria, the guess country, exhibited really very good material.

Croatia One Minute Film Festival

O filme "Birds" foi seleccionado para o Croácia One Minute Film Festival, que decorreu de 25 a 27 de Maio, 2010, em Pozega. A Croácia é um dos Países mais bonitos que já visitei, curiosamente ainda à procura da sua identidade... O Festival tem 18 anos e a organização é excelente. Este ano ganhou um filme Italiano de Cinema de animação, no passado o vencedor foi um film de imagem real, realizado por Luís Antunes (PT).

The film "Birds" was selected for the Croatia One Minute Film Festival that took place from 25 to 27 of May, in POzega. Croatia is one of the most charming countries that I have ever visited. The way they discuss their own identity is very interesting - as matter of fact, they are still searching for it. The Festival is quite old (18 years) and the organization is excellent. This year the winner was an animation film, last year it was a live action film directed by Luís Antunes (PT).

residência make na Irlanda

De 12 a 21 de março, estive na Irlanda, na residência MAKE, organizada pelo Theatre Forum of Ireland. 15 performers e três monitores - a Vivi Tellas, o Florian Malzachere e o Ant Hampton. Durante uma semana, trabalhámos intensamente nos nossos projectos, andámos de barco, demos (dois aventureiros) um mergulho no lago, fizemos exercícios de improvisação e exploramos o arquivo de filmes do Florian. EXPOSIÇÃO FILME DESASSOSSEGO NO MUSEU DA MARIONETA

Encontra-se em exibição no Museu da Marioneta em Lisboa uma exposição sobre o filme Desassossego de Lorenzo degl'Innocenti. A exposição inclui desenhos, cenários, adereços e música original do filme. De 11 de Fevereiro a 18 de Março.

INDEPENDÊNCIA DE ESPÍRITO

Um novo filme na bobine: Independência de Espírito ganhou o concurso do ICA para apoio a curtas metragens de cinema de animação. Realização de Marta Monteiro, argumento de Ana Mendes, baseado na história homónima de Isabel Barreno, produção Sardinha em Lata.

The film "Independence of Spirit" won the conquest of the ICA (Institute of the Portuguese Cinema and Audiovisuals) for support of short animated films. Directed by Marta Monteiro, scriptwriting Ana Mendes, based on a history from Isabel Barreno, produced by Sardinha em Lata.

UBI CINEMA 2009

De 9 a 16 de Outubro, realiza-se a UBI Cinema 2009, uma mostra dedicada à Sétima Arte, que inclui várias projecções, debates e eventos. A mostra possui um programa específico de formação, com várias masterclasses: argumento com Ana Mendes, imagem com Rui Poças, casting com Patrícia Vasconcelos ou produção com Paulo Branco.

From October 9th to the 16th the University of Beira Interior organizes an exhibition of Cinema, that includes several events - workshops, screenings, etc. Ana Mendes leads a masterclass about scriptwriting, Rui Poças about photography, Patrícia Vasconcelos deals with casting and Paulo Branco as a producer.

O filme Picheleira foi seleccionado para a Expo Universal de Shangai, integrando a mostra da One Minutes Foundation sobre a cidade de Lisboa. Foram seleccionados 24 filmes, que reportam a 24 horas do dia em Lisboa.
